Now playing in iTunes: Mother In Law, Little Mac.
Well, I let a little time get away from me there. I had a pretty good streak going for a while, posting nearly every day, but then things got a bit crazy. Ah well, I didn’t make any promises at the get-go, so your complaints are baseless.
Big project for the past week was creating a “slide show” for Alex’s 8th grade promotion ceremony. Continue reading “meanwhile, back on the mouseblog…”
Now playing in iTunes: Is This All, Jonatha Brooke.
Had a dentist appointment this morning…

Now playing in iTunes: Girlfriend, Matthew Sweet.
Happy Wednesday; sorry about missing yesterday. I was incredibly tired yesterday…probably too many stupidly late nights catching up with me. So I actually managed to pull off an earlier bedtime when evening rolled around. Feeling better this morning.
Now playing in iTunes: Stop Your Groanin’, Paul deLay.
An appropriate (and random) choice by iTunes there, as last night brought me a peak experience: sitting in with Paul himself. I went to the Ken Johnson benefit (see previous post) with low expectations, since unlike some folks, I hadn’t been “assigned” in advance to any of the groupings that were slated to play. But a helpful word from David Moore got me a slot sitting in with Terry Robb, Aric Riley and Marty Henninger on drums (bass player was Susie?). Continue reading “blissed out on blues”
Now playing in iTunes: Prisoner of Life, Johnny Adams.
Kind of a lazy, hanging-around-the-house Sunday so far, helping out both kids with long-term school projects that are due next week. Doing our best to eliminate the influence of the familial gene for procrastination. On the other hand, there’s really no reason to rush on that…
Oh my God, this site is too incredibly cool…
That’s IF you find retro, vintage, kitschy stuff as fascinating as I do, of course. Lots of resources there, a great deal of it simply free for your use.
Well, not really. I just liked the sound of that phrase. I am a little tired this morning…another too-late evening for no particularly good reason.
Watched 3 episodes from the “Arrested Development” DVD last night. I know we’re behind the curve and everybody who’s anybody already knows how good this show is, but…if it so happens that you don’t know about it yet, definitely check it out. Very funny stuff.
I don’t really have that classic sense of Friday — release all that tension — TGIF — that I had when I worked in an office setting, or certainly when I was in school (both teaching, and as a student). When you work for yourself, those boundaries kinda get blurred. This obviously has both potential upside and downside. Hm.
Gone to the Dogs: a new British comedy film
Find out what kind of dog you would be! This site, for a British film, has a “game” called “What Dog Are You?” which asks you ten questions and then tells you what breed of dog you would be if you were, well, a dog.
Turns out I’m a Hamiltonstovare (Hamilton Hound)!
